Green living room

It is the second room of the “House of the Lady” that Faustina Amadei ordered to be renovated in the middle of the eighteenth century because she could not live in the rooms overlooking Via dei Priori for health reasons. In the late nineteenth-century and the early twentieth-century, when Marquises Marini Clarelli had settled in the Palace, the room was covered with brown wallpaper. The wall and ceiling decorations were completely remade during the maintenance operation carried out in 1997. The simple decorations made in the middle of the nineteenth-century were reproduced with the same colours and drawings, the walls were painted in accordance with the friezes and ceiling. The ceiling is made of wooden beams covered with geometric patterns and terracotta tiles with flowery patterns. The doors and windows were repainted in an arbitrary manner, covering the austere artificial wooden version of the mid-nineteenth century with black squares. The wooden floors have recently been made.
